El Palacio de Bellas Artes es una construcción ubicada en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México. 

Esta preciosa obra arquitectónica sirve como teatro, entre otras muchas funciones, siempre relacionadas con el arte.

This beautiful architectural work serve as theater, among many other functions, always related to art.

Toda la construcción es en sí una gran obra de arte, pero para mí, destacan sobre todo los numerosos vitrales que tiene en su interior y las esculturas que se encuentran repartidas tanto dentro como fuera de todo el palacio.

All construction is a work of art, but, for me, the most important are the many stained glass inside and the sculptures that are distributed in and out of the palace.

Pero tras ver la sala principal del teatro, no queda duda de que la pieza más impresionante de este lugar es la cortina de cristal.

Hecha con aproximadamente un millón de cristales Tiffany's opalescentes e iridiscentes, mide 14 metros de ancho por 12,50 de alto y tiene 30 cm de espesor, además de pesar 27 toneladas.

A pesar de la función con la que se ideó (telón anti incendios), cuenta con un sistema de elevación que, en caso de detectarse fuego, sube el telón completo hasta una cámara aislada donde se mantiene intacto.

But after seeing the main hall of the theater, there is no doubt that the most impressive part of this place is the glass curtain.

Made with approximately one million of Tiffany's crystals, who are opalescent and iridescent, this curtain have 14 meters wide, 12,50 meters high and 30 cm thick, besides weighing 27 tons.

Although the role with which he devised (anti fire curtain), has a lifting system which, if fire is detected, the entire curtain rises to an insulated chamber where it is kept intact.
